Annette Pehnt was born in Cologne in 1967. She studied English, German, and Celtic Studies in Cologne and Freiburg and both studied and worked abroad in Ireland, Scotland, and the USA. She received her PhD in 1997 and now lives with her husband and three daughters in Freiburg and works as a writer and critic.
