Mehrnousch Zaeri-Esfahani, born in 1974, moved to Germany in 1985 with her parents and siblings. She grew up in Heidelberg and studied social pedagogy in Freiburg. Since 1999, she has been active in refugee work and, since 2014, trainer and consultant for intercultural openness. She also does volunteer work helping refugees. Since 2012, she has been working as a writer and lives with her family in Karlsruhe.
