Stefan Rahmstorf, born in 1960, is a climate researcher and professor of ocean physics at the Potsdam-Institute for Climate Impact Research. He is a member of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU) and of Academia Europaea. He was also one of the principal authors of the Fourth Assessment Report of IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change).
