Translator workshop and information session for representatives of publishing houses and editors
Thursday, 28 November
What is the status of today’s translation scene in Germany? What grants and advanced training opportunities are available? What marketing strategies might be useful for "newcomers" to learn about?
These topics will be the subject of a workshop aimed at translators of German-language literature into Greek. The event is geared both to professionals with experience in publishing as well as to those who have not yet published a book in translation, yet are interested in learning more about the German-language literature scene and wish to discover opportunities for networking and forums for exchange.
Jürgen Jakob Becker, Deputy Director of the Literary Colloquium Berlin, and Director of the German Translator Fund, and co-founder of the International Translation Program TOLEDO, has been invited as a speaker.
Following the workshop, Jürgen Jakob Becker will give a brief overview of current trends and topics in German-language literature. Alexandros Kypriotis, editor of the Litrix Program 2019-2020, will present works selected by Litrix for the Fall program.
Representatives from publishing houses and editors are also cordially invited to attend this session of the event.
