Axel Brüggemann, born 1971 in Bremen, studied History, Music and Art History in Freiburg. He wrote for several years for major national newspapers and magazines. In 2006 he became editor-in-chief of the classical-music magazine crescendo. He currently lives and works in Bremen as a freelance publicist, columnist and writer of books and film scripts.
