Lutz Hachmeister

Lutz Hachmeister, born 1959 in Minden, studied Communication in Münster and Berlin; he gained his doctorate in Berlin in 1986 and his professorial ‘habilitation’ at the University of Dortmund in 1999. He worked variously as an editor at the newspaper Tagesspiegel, Director of the Adolf Grimme Institute in Marl, and founding Director of the Cologne TV and Film Festival. He teaches journalism at Dortmund University and is the founding Director of the Institute for Media and Communication Policy (IfM) in Berlin.
