Jan Jekal, born in Kiel in 1993, is a freelance writer and cultural journalist. He studied North American Studies at the Free University of Berlin. His articles on film and music appear in publications including 'Die Zeit' and the 'Süddeutsche Zeitung'. He also hosts the pop culture podcast “Rolling Stone Weekly”. He lives in Berlin, but would prefer to be in Los Angeles in winter. His favourite film is 'The Shop Around the Corner' by Ernst Lubitsch. 'Paranoia in Hollywood' is Jan Jekal’s first book.
