Kurt Flasch

Kurt Flasch, born 1930 in Mainz, earned his Ph.D. (1956) and his ‘Habilitation’ (1969) in Frankfurt. From 1970 until his retirement in 1995 he held the chair of Philosophy at the Ruhr University in Bochum. An award-winning philosopher and historian, he has devoted himself for many decades to the history of Christian thought. His main research focus is the philosophy of Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages.
