Peter Wien, born 1973 in Koblenz, studied History and Middle Eastern History in Bonn, Heidelberg and Oxford. He worked at the Centre for Modern Oriental Studies (ZMO) in Berlin and is now Professor of the History of the Modern Middle East at the University of Maryland.
