Jochen Voit, born 1972 in Nuremberg, initially trained as a bookseller, then studied History and Communication Studies in Munich. He worked as a radio presenter, wrote for various newspapers including the Süddeutsche Zeitung, curated exhibitions, and developed oral history projects. In 2012 he became head of the new Andreasstrasse Commemorative and Educational Centre in the former Stasi prison in Erfurt.
