DuMont Buchverlag

The Dumont Buchverlag was founded in 1956 and in its early years was devoted to the publication of art books and important, trend-setting standard works on classic modern art. For three decades from the 1970s travel literature and travel guides constituted a major element of its output. In 1998 Dumont presented its first literary list alongside its other titles. Today the Dumont Verlag offers three complementary kinds of books: literature, non-fiction, and illustrated non-fiction. Its literature assortment includes contemporary literature by German-language and international authors and also quality light fiction and thrillers. The non-fiction category consists of biographies, cultural history and popular science, and numerous books, both illustrated and non-illustrated, on art, design and lifestyle. Since 2010 Dumont has published its own paperback series. A large number of Dumont titles are also published as e-books and audiobooks.
