Verbrecher Verlag
The Verbrecher Verlag is an independent publishing house founded in 1995 by Werner Labisch and Jörg Sundermeier. Sundermeier has headed up the company together with Kristine Listau since 2016. Its assortment is highly diverse, but its main focus is on belles-lettres, though the company also publishes non-fiction – chiefly political books, but also scholarly ones. As well as advancing the cause of forgotten literary voices, Verbrecher also fosters emerging talents. Books by Peter O. Chotjewitz, Elfriede Czurda, Dietmar Dath, Barbara Kirchner, Georg Kreisler, Ronald M. Schernikau, Kolja Mensing, Wolfgang Müller, Milo Rau, Anke Stelling and David Wagner have been first-published by the Verbrecher Verlag. In the domain of non-fiction and politics the Verbrecher Verlag publishes books on national socialism, right-wing extremism, sexism and antisemitism, and also on theories on the culture industry, on the history of literature, film and music, and many other topics.
