Hanser Berlin
Hanser Berlin is the Berlin arm of the Hanser publishing company. Headed up by Karsten Kredel and Lina Muzur, it is the breeding-ground for a cosmopolitan and contemporary programme of extraordinary, unique voices. Everything is covered: German-language and international writing; literature and non-fiction. Hanser Berlin is the home of authors such as Swetlana Alexijewitsch, Jan Wagner, Richard Ford, Hanya Yanagihara, Mathias Enard, Helene Hegemann, Teju Cole, Richard Sennett, Robert Seethaler, Leslie Jamison and Lauren Groff.
Political, intellectual and innovative (in terms of literary form) engagement with current topics is central to Hanser Berlin's publishing programme. Hanser Berlin writers engaged in this way include Maggie Nelson, Daniel Schreiber, Mohamed Amjahid and Stephan Lessenich. Poetry has been an integral component of Hanser Berlin's output ever since its inception; poets include Jan Wagner, Sylvia Geist, Björn Kuhligk and Tom Schulz.
