Adam Sobczynski, born 1975 in Torun, Poland, moved to Germany at the beginning of the1980s. He studied German and Philosophy, not least in England and in Berkeley, California. After completing his doctorate he worked as a university teacher and wrote articles for Tagesspiegel and Monopol. He now writes for Die Zeit. He won the Axel Springer Prize for Journalits in 2005.
