Barbara Honigmann
Biography
Barbara Honigmann was born in East Berlin in 1949 following her parents’ return from exile in England. After taking a degree in Theatre Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin she worked as a dramatic adviser and theatre director. She has been a freelance writer and artist since 1976. She left the GDR in 1984 and moved to Strasbourg, where she currently lives with her husband and their two children.
