Eva Menasse, born in Vienna in 1970, began her journalistic career at the Viennese magazine Profil. She went on to become an editor at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, covering the London trial of Holocaust denier David Irving, and worked as a culture correspondent in Vienna after a stint in Prague. She has lived in Berlin since 2003. Vienna is her first literary publication. Other publications include Der Holocaust vor Gericht. Der Prozeß um David Irving, 2000.
