Noah Flug was born in Poland in 1925. In 1939 he and his family were "relocated" to carry out forced labour in the Lodz Ghetto; in August 1944 he was moved to Auschwitz and Gross-Rosen concentration camps then, later, to Mauthausen. In 1958 he emigrated to Israel, where he worked as an economist and diplomat. He is currently chairman of the umbrella organization of Holocaust survivors in Israel and president of the International Auschwitz Committee.
