Tamara Bach, born 1976 in Limburg an der Lahn, studied English and German at the Free University Berlin, and now lives in Berlin as a freelance writer. Her debut novel Marsmädchen (‘The girl from Mars’) made a big impact, winning various awards including the Oldenburg Children’s Book Prize and the German Children’s Literature Prize. Her second novel, Busfahrt mit Kuhn (‘Bus journey with Kuhn’), won various accolades, including nomination for the Honour List of the International Board on Books for Young People.
Die Zeit has declared Tamara Bach to be ‘one of the most important voices in children’s literature’.
