Publisher's profile

Beltz & Gelberg, founded in 1971 by Hans-Joachim Gelberg, represented a new kind of publishing programme for children and young people. Right from the start, they attracted attention because of their distinctive orange binding, but also because they claimed to offer literary texts with artistic illustrations. DER BUNTE HUND [THE MULTI-COLOURED DOG], a colour magazine full of stories and pictures for book-mad „children at the best age“ offers a forum for established and new talent alike. In 1986 Beltz and Gelberg started its own paperback list under the name of „Gulliver“. MINIMAX appeared on the market in 2004 in association with the Moritz Verlag, producing successful and world-renowned picture books in paperback.
