Klöpfer & Meyer
Klöpfer & Meyer was founded in Tübingen in 1991 as a "publisher of fiction, essays and non-fiction" by Hubert Klöpfer, Klaus Meyer and a few dedicated companions. From the start, the publishing company sought the extraordinary, the discovery, the surprise. In autumn 1996, in recognition for its work, the publishing company was awarded the baden-württembergischen Landespreis for ambitious literary publishers. From 2000 to 2003, Klöpfer & Meyer was acquired as an imprint by DVA in Munich. By January 2003, Hubert Klöpfer brought "his small publishing house" back to Tübingen,” to retain its status as an independent publisher from Baden-Württemberg with its own profile and to feature authors from the Baden-Wuerttemberg region.
