ViceVersa: German-Arabic Translator Workshop in the Literaturhaus München from July 8-12, 2017

An event organized by the Literaturhaus München and by Litrix.de within the context of the Litrix special focus on the "Arabic World" and the ViceVersa program of the German Translators Fund and Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH.
The translator's workshop at the Literaturhaus München continues to provide fruitful encounters between Arabic and German-speaking translators, as it has in recent years, in the same or varied constellation. Applications are open to all who have provable published literary translations, and who are interested in engaging in an in-depth exchange on translation and the mediation of our literatures in the respective other cultural sphere.
In the seminar, each submitted translation will be discussed and deepened through contrasting presentations on basic topics such as: tense and mood, subjunctive and indirect speech, dialogue and orality. The program has scheduled invited guests in both language areas as well as time for conversation and joint excursions.
The application deadline is April 28, 2017.
