Horst Rademacher, born 1954 in Duisburg, studied Geophysics and Astronomy in Cologne and Bonn, and worked as a science journalist. He has lived in San Francisco since 1986. He works as a professor at UC Berkeley and a science correspondent for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
