Götz Aly, born 1947, studied journalism at the Deutsche Journalistenschule in Munich, and history and political science in Berlin. He earned his Ph.D. and his postdoctoral degree at the Otto Suhr Institute in Berlin. Aly has published important works on social policy and the history of Nazism. He has worked as an editor at the newspapers taz and Berliner Zeitung and is now a freelance writer.
