Michael Hampe, born 1961 in Hanover, studied Philosophy, Psychology and German Literature in Cambridge and Heidelberg, and Biology in Heidelberg. After teaching posts in Dublin, Kassel and Bamberg, he became Professor of Philosophy at the Swiss Technical University (ETH) in Zurich in 2003.
