Founded in 1947, the Verlag Freies Geistesleben works in close cooperation with the Rudolf Steiner (Waldorf) Schools and is the major publisher worldwide of literature on Steiner education and anthroposophy. In addition to its focus on the Waldorf teaching system, the Verlag Freies Geistesleben also regards people’s spiritual development as crucially important and accordingly offers self-help books on the challenges of life,  especially contemporary life, creative and activity books, books on the poetic nature of language, vegetarian cook books, and many educational picture books and books for children and young adults.
