Reclam Verlag

Philipp Reclam jun. GmbH & Co. KG is a medium-sized German publishing house founded by Anton Philipp Reclam in Leipzig in 1828 and has been family-owned ever since. The West German branch was founded in 1947 in Stuttgart. Today the company is located in nearby Ditzingen. Until 31 March 2006, the company headquarters continued to operate as Reclam Leipzig in Leipzig.

Reclam's program is divided into three main areas: The heart of the publishing house is the Universal Library, Germany's oldest paperback series, which has been publishing classics at low cost since the middle of the 19th century. In addition, there is the hardcover program of reference works on art and culture, non-fiction and gift books, as well as the paperback program. In addition, the 2013 program was expanded to include the Reclam XL series which was designed for teaching German.
