Residenz Verlag

Amongst Austria’s publishing companies the Residenz Verlag, which is based in Salzburg and Vienna, is regarded as having one of the richest traditions, and today it offers an exceptionally ambitious literary programme together with a range of dedicated non-fiction of proven quality. Its literary assortment focuses chiefly on young newly discovered writers from across the whole German-speaking world; on continuously safeguarding the oeuvre of renowned Austrian writers; and on publishing carefully selected translations from English and from eastern European and northern European languages. In its non-fiction assortment Residenz publishes biographies and books on topics in contemporary history, sustainability, and art, and also – in its essay series ‘Unruhe bewahren’ (‘Maintaining mayhem’) – on explosive socio-political issues. From 2006 to 2015 the children’s-book publisher Nilpferd also belonged to the Residenz Verlag under the name ‘Nilpferd in Residenz’. Nilpferd is currently part of the G&G Verlag.
