Sanssouci Verlag

The Sanssouci Verlag was established in 1954 by Peter Schifferli, founder and owner of the Arche Verlag. Sanssouci was set up in order to publish the company’s lighter type of literature. When the Sanssouci Verlag was bought by Hanser in 1995 its tradition of specialising in high quality, large-format illustrated books and small gift-books for special occasions was maintained. These days Sanssouci is the publishing home of many well-known authors and illustrators including Michael Sowa, Philip Waechter, Elke Heidenreich, Ole Könnecke, Luis Murschetz, Hans Zippert, Rainer Moritz, Bernd Schroeder and Quint Buchholz. Sanssouci Verlag is part of the Hanser Verlag publishing group.
