The Limmat Verlag was founded in 1975, and is considered one of Switzerland’s most prominent publishing houses. The company publishes German-language literature from Switzerland as well as translations from languages spoken within Switzerland (including Albanian, Hungarian, English, etc.), historical and political books in its non-fiction list, photography books, biographies and the life stories of ordinary people that focuses on documenting everyday life, past and present, with a particular emphasis on women and women’s studies and has a critically acclaimed fiction list featuring classic Swiss authors, including: Charles Ferdinand Ramuz, Meinrad Ingle, and Friedrich Glauser. The company regularly collaborates with institutions such as the Swiss National Museum and the Fotostiftung Switzerland. The publisher has no political or religious affiliations.
