The author Ute Krause will present her suspenseful novel, "Im Labyrinth der Lügen" [Labyrinth of lies] together with her translator and publisher Ayman Sharaf. The translation into Arabic was published in 2017 by Al-turjman - Dragoman, Cairo, with funding from Litrix. de as part of the special focus "Arabic World".
12 year-old Paul lives with his grandmother and his uncle Henri. Two years before, his parents tried to escape from the GDR and were arrested. After getting ransomed, they started a new life in the West. Does Paul have to stay with his grandmother in East Berlin forever? He visits his Uncle Henri at his job in the Pergamon Museum with his girlfriend Millie. They hear suspicious noises and, of course, need to find out the source of it. This proves dangerous not only for the two of them. In this thrilling children’s detective story, Ute Krause also shows us plenty of facts about life in the GDR.
