György Dalos

György Dalos, born 1943 in Budapest, studied at Moscow State University from 1962 to 1967 and then worked as a translator from German and Russian. From 1987 to 1995 he divided his time between Vienna and Budapest, working mostly for German broadcasters and newspapers. From 1992 to 1997 Dalos was a member of the board of directors of the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Cologne. From 1995 to 1999 he served as Director of the Hungarian Cultural Institute in Berlin. György Dalos lives in Berlin as a freelance writer.
