Tom Holert, born 1962 in Hamburg, studied Art History, Modern German Literature and Philosophy in Hamburg and Paris, and in 1995 gained a doctorate in Art History at Frankfurt’s Johann Wolfgang Goethe University. He taught for several years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna before becoming a founding member of the Academy of the Arts of the World in Cologne. He lives and works as a journalist and artist in Berlin.
