Stefan Rahmstorf, born 1960 in Karlsruhe, is Professor of Ocean Physics at the Potsdam-Institute for Climate Impact Research. He is a member of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU) and of Academia Europaea. He was one of the lead authors of the 2007 Fourth Assessment Report of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change). He is regarded as one of the world’s leading oceanographers.
