Natasha Wodin (b. 1945) the child of displaced Soviet forced laborers, was born in Fürth and raised in German post-war camps for "Displaced Persons", then in a girls' home. In the early seventies, she completed a language school program, worked as an interpreter and later as a literary translator. Based in Berlin and Mecklenburg, she has worked as a freelance writer since 1980.
