NordSüd, a picture book publisher rich in tradition, was founded in 1961 by Dimitri and Brigitte Sidjanski in Switzerland. Their distinguished list offers a broad range of thematically and artistically sophisticated picture books by both established and newer authors and illustrators, such as Hans de Beer, Katja Gehrmann, Torben Kuhlmann, Marcus Pfister and Brigitte Weninger.
Based in Zurich, NordSüd publishes original editions for the German-language market, while its subsidiary, NorthSouth Books, caters for the English-language market with a range of books chosen from the company’s main list. NordSüd has been part of the Oetinger publishing group since mid-2009.
