Tulipan Verlag

The Tulipan Verlag, founded in Berlin in 2006, is an independent publisher of children’s books based in Munich and run by Mascha Schwarz. ‘Tulipan books will liven you up!’ - for Tulipan publish original, high-quality picture books and children’s books that offer captivating, empathetic, humorous and challenging stories accompanied by appealing and unique illustrations; books that are stimulating for their young readers and calculated to arouse their curiosity. This is achieved by working with a select band of writers and illustrators. The Tulipan assortment covers a broad range: alongside board picture books for their youngest fans (age 2 and upwards), there are also special picture books and books for reading aloud. The programme includes the ‘Tulipan-ABC’ series, a series for beginners that opens the way to literature and motivates children to get reading. There is also the ‘Tulipan Kleiner Roman’ series (‘Tulipan mini novels’) for children aged seven and upwards. These novels, at once short yet with a fully rounded story line, make it easy for readers to progress from first readers to proper children’s novels by tapping into their own realm of feelings and experiences. In addition, Tulipan offers a selection of special picture books that adults also enjoy reading and which make ideal presents. Tulipan’s programme is supplemented by a large number of carefully selected children’s novels, children’s non-fiction, and activity books.
